Curtain Call - October 2022

Directed by Derek Holland

The play follows a chaotic day in the life of Alec Partridge, Manager of the Thurlow Playhouse. This is a run-down theatre desperately looking for funds and an Arts Council agent arrives to assess the theatre’s eligibility for a grant.
Alec reports to Clarence Mason who is a local councillor and Chair of the Theatre Trust. He is a pompous bully who has long since lost sight of any ideals he may have had, if he ever had any. He arrives to see the agent with disastrous but hilarious consequences. The theatre puts on awful professional plays and also amateur productions and Mason’s wife is currently directing an amateur production of Oklahoma and demands real horses in the show.
